I See Well It Is More Or Less Exactly What It Sounds Like Ill Explain More There
[Kanaya is currently setting all of the pillows she's made so far during her time on the base on the ground in the middle of her room, quickly piling up into a, well, pile of pillows and fabric rolls. Some of the junk she got from the Monomono Yachine may have sneaked in places, poking out at odd angles.]
[That final text is all the warning he gets before after a few moments the door is opened by still rather disheveled Kanaya, who is as she said, practically a strobe light.]
I am glad to see that you could make it.
[She steps out of the way to let him into her room, as she looks over him for any signs of injury.]
The pile is in the middle of my room. I constructed it mainly out of pillows, but a few items from the tree appear to have made their way in.
[The pillow pile is mostly made up of pillows of various pattenes and shapes, along with a few fabric rolls, and a large amount of miniature horse plush prototypes from Kanaya's earlier attempts to make Dirk a satisfactory pattern. A few Tissue boxes, several Marine snows, a single Falkor Muffler, three Cloth Wrap Backpacks, a Antique Doll, A few Go Stones, several Apron Dresses and even a Hope's Peak Ring appears to have been tossed in. Kanaya's collection of junk from the tree is rather impressive, but she is lacking some of the more alive and more destructive items one could potentially get out of the Monomono Yachine. Although that may be a secondary observation, as the gold framed painting of a certain despair fetishist sticks out from the corner of the room, where Kanaya appears to be attempting to organize the junk.]
.....I will admit that beating the tree has perhaps become a little too much fun. I am still no closer to understanding how these items fall out of it though, which is rather irritating.
I think trying to make rhyme or reason about something from a digital world would be a bit difficult.
[He is mostly looking down, to avoid the blinding light. However, this leads to a lucky find of one two go stones and a ring. Ah... how nice. He can't help but pick them up.
As for his condition he's... he has been better. He is bruised in the face, and elsewhere. Though he was only punched once falling to the floor was not kind on him otherwise his disposition isn't too different, perhaps a bit down. But at the same time, he seems a bit... more at ease. Like something good happened ultimately.]
Hinata kun simply needs to know where I go. Though, I feel it's a bit much to have to say on top of being tracked. But, I suppose this is the path to regaining his trust.
[Kanaya grimaces at the bruises. Nothing seems to be bleeding, so all the bandages from the tree will continue piling up in the corner. She exhales, and sits down on the pile and gestures to the spot next to her. If getting beat up, injured, or whatever in the process of disarming the bomb or afterwards, some good luck likely came out of it.]
I will be there to assist you in regaining his trust however I can, but it is a battle that will largely depend upon you and your future actions. Speaking of which, I suppose this is an excellent way to initiate our first feelings jam, which I would like to focus around discussing him and how you feel about him.
[Since Kanaya is growing a little wearied of the Underwater Soap Opera, and she was going to have this be a topic to bring up soon anyway. The incident has simply brought it to the top of the discussion list.]
[He blinks a bit, but sits down without issue. It was a bit nice since it was mostly made of pillows. But, wasn't that a lot of work?]
Oh! I think it should be alright. I decided to give him my life as a sign of my trust!
[He sounded so happy about it.]
He didn't really want it though, but I convinced him.
[That didn't really talk about his feelings in general though.]
But... ultimately I think everything did work out how it was suppose to. Because I got to talk to Hinata kun, and he said he doesn't hate me. He might have a girlfriend now, but that doesn't matter. I got to tell him properly how I feel. And... I feel a lot better.
[Kanaya blinks and stares, after a moment she chuckles and shakes her head in bemusement.]
Well... that takes quite a bit off my to-do list. In all honesty I have only recently put together your feelings about Hinata, but was planning to bring it up soon.
[Kanaya smiles though.]
I am glad that this ended on a more amicable note then my own experience in a situation like this did.
[While she guesses it is unnecessary now, she already steeled herself to tell the story, dammit, so for context it is.]
When I was in a Moirallegiance with Vriska I harbored flushed feelings for her. I let said feelings interfere with the relationship I already had with her, and when she acted on flushed feelings for Tavros with my unknowing help, it ultimately ruined it. While we are on better terms now, It took a long time to rebuild any of the friendship and trust we had prior to everything. In retrospect, I might have had a chance if I confessed my feelings and even if they were not accepted I feel things would have gone better. I might even have Auspitized for the two and have been able to prevent the escalations that occurred afterward. At the very least telling her properly how I felt would have been cathartic.
[These are but observations and musings now, as Kanaya would not trade Rose for Vriska for anything.]
I do not wish to see what you have with Hinata to self-destruct in such a messy manner, so it is an relief that you have told him how you feel, even if they were not requited.
[The phrase might have a girlfriend now does not exactly imply acceptance of feelings, so there was probably rejection. There are plenty of fish in the sea, and seeing as we are on an planet that is mostly sea, you have good chances. Plus there is a more low-key less active fights and more move all Hinata's furniture an inch to the left so he keeps stubbing his toe type of kismeisissitude as a possibility. Honestly with how crafty Nagito is along with his personality, he'd probably have garnered a fair amount of suitors in that quadrant.]
They were never suppose to be. And even if something might have been different when I had originally told him, I never wanted them returned.
It 8s a bit unfair that heven didn't even try and figure it out ahead of time though. It's annoying even. But! We have a connection that I feel will last a long time.
While with anyone else I would say that they likely had trouble reading you, but that does not apply to Hinata. So I must speculate that he was uncertain about bringing it up, or considered other possibilities more likely.
[She shrugs slightly.]
Regardless, I suppose that barring any feelings or thoughts about this event that you wish to tell me, we can move onto the next topic... although I do wish to know who you acquired your injuries from. I doubt it was Hinata based on how things resolved.
I don't think he could figure it out when it mattered... and then was hoping it wasn't true when he could....
[Which made sense.]
I'm not really sure how exactly I feel. Relieved? But... they don't really go away, do they? I think they'll be there forever. But, that should be alright as long as I don't cause him problems. As for injuries... well, I can't blame her. Roxy san was rather mad at me. She said she should have broken my jaw, I think she probably should have. She said she would murder me if I went near the people she cared about, I said she should just do it ahead of time.
While it is likely that your feelings will not ever fully fade away, there are plenty of fish in the sea as they say, and seeing as we are on an literal ocean planet, there are plenty of fish for you to choose from.
[Kanaya's expression takes on a thoughtful one.]
If you were a troll, I would say that there is possibility of courting Hinata in another quadrant, most likely as a potential Kismesis.
[You'd be able to continue calling him an idiot for all time.]
But as Hinata has repeatedly expressed his disinterest in the quadrants, it is an unlikely option.
[Kanaya purses her lips in thought when she hears who Roxy did.]
While I can potentially overlook punching your jaw due to Karkat being a dear friend that I would prefer un-exploded, I feel that the murder threat is unacceptable and not to mention unable to be followed, for obvious reasons.
[She gestures a hand in regards to the two of them. Can't exactly stay away from your Moirail.]
I will have a talk with her later, after this event is well in the past, and she can think rationally about this.
I'm sure everything will work out how it should. It always does in some way!
[And despite everything, and what he just said about his supposed love life, and physical well being, he was actually in a decent mood.]
Ah! I wouldn't want that with Hinata kun. I couldn't... dislike him? In that way. No matter what he is brimming with hope, and it's always calming to be near him. Even as things are now, and with what he has, there is a connection between us that isn't going to go away. We are classmates, and... we are bound together, in a way. I'm not really worried about anything beyond that. And... I don't feel it would be safe for anyone else. Though, one can't control the feelings of the heart, they will go where they want. So, it's fine as is.
[Sadly later, he had tried to apologize and made the entire thing worse.]
I know I made some missteps... and, things didn't really work out the way I had intended. I'm used to things not going how I mean to have them, but... I'm generally used to them still getting the desired result in the end. I didn't think it would turn into such a mess.
But, again, I feel this is alright. Because either something lucky will happen from this unlucky situation, or, this was how it was suppose to go to get the right result in the end!
Well, I will say that I am glad that it did not work out as intended, despite the resulting mess.
[A non-exploded Karkat is a good Karkat.]
And you got closure on your feelings, hopefully mending any rifts between you and Hinata that have resulted from keeping them a secret. I consider this to be a better result overall. Moving on, I recently received an item from the tree that I would like to get your opinion on.
[Kanaya stands up to grab the gold framed painting from the corner of her room. It's hard to see what is on it until the troll sits down and flips it back around. That sure is an immaculate painting of one Enoshima Junko. Based on the plaque, it's titled "Girl with the Bear Hairpin".]
While the work is impeccable in quality, I am more interested in the person depicted in it. Her hairpins bear a striking resemblance to a certain monochrome bear, so I hope it is not presumptuous of me to assume that she is involved in what happened in your world?
Ah... yes! The mastermind of the second Mutual Killing Game. From what I understand she's dead. But, I only know what the one article about the survivors of that game said. Hinata kun could tell you more though.
[And probably have a small heart attack at the sight of it.]
[Poor Hinata. Kanaya doesn't mean to cause him so many heart attacks.]
So there were two total then? while I have learned some about this from you and Hinata, I haven't had it explained in full yet. If it is acceptable, I admit that I am quite curious about it.
There were at least two before ours. But, the information is a little lacking. five student survived the previous one, and one student survived the one before.
Though... that one the information I had was definitely misleading.
[He pauses a moment, and as much as he isn't against sharing the information or freely talking about all of that stuff, he's not sure if he should really talk about Hinata and what he has gleamed of that time.]
It's hard to say, and... it involves Hinata kun. He really knows more about all of that than I do, I just know that my original assumptions are wrong.
